Portrait of Connor Jordan

Connor is a PhD student in hydro-environmental engineering and the group’s Industry Engagement Lead. His research uses hydrodynamic coastal-ocean modelling to improve tidal-stream turbine array design and understand array-scale environmental effects.

Research interests

  • Tidal-stream array design and optimisation

  • Coastal-ocean modelling for marine energy

  • Adjoint methods and data assimilation

  • Hydrodynamic impacts of turbine arrays

Current research

Connor is developing and applying methods for the optimisation and calibration of hydrodynamic models for tidal-stream energy, including array layout and operational modelling.
